Anyone at or heard what breeding sheep were doing at Bentham today? Seen the price summary on Facebook but need too see the sheep too relate them really!
On fire! Cheviot mule ewes/shearlings around that £150 - £170. Smart white faced sheep £180+. Aged mule ewes were £120 - £140. Aged texel/Suffolk ewes we’re £130 - £160. Obviously plenty of sheep for less money than that but mainly for harder bred or leaner type ewes.Anyone at or heard what breeding sheep were doing at Bentham today? You did well then because I stood in Darlington all sale and missed the 33kg meated lambs at 66 quid
Bit of both I would imagine. I don’t think price will be too bad till end August but we have all thought that haven’t we!!
They might be very short next week after everyone has drawn hard over last month.
£200/head short?I can see lamb as a whole being short the further into winter we get as people have been drawing hard and light the last 2 months
Thought you were mr liveweight
How do you find out they are behind price wise? Where do you get the information fromI am and that is why I support livestock markets every week as a buyer and many weeks as a seller but my lambs now at this time of year are not liveweight lambs!
And interestingly for the Monday just gone most deadweight buyers dropped the price and graded very hard yet what happens in the livestock markets on Monday? lambs went dearer so that just shows where we would be without the livestock markets!
If my lambs now were liveweight lambs they would be in the market @Northeastfarmer but they are not and don't forget that Westcountry markets are always way behind price wise than the markets you have in the North!
Tremendous for mule lambs that, well, tremendous for any breed, mustve been well farmed lambsLambs a fair old trade today, took all my tup lambs bar 1, wasn't that many as don't intentionally keep tups just the 1stoned ones, and ones that slip the net. Mules 101 Texals 94 all out of Swales
