Yea quite possible, has to be said thou that there were a lot of very young stores/ poor cattle for their age entered today and the quality I don't think would be on average anywhere near that of the last week or so.
Soo you could say it was has dear for what is there? Thing is to sell now or wait until the autumn like normal.?

I think they were still back even thou the quality of entry wasn't so good as previous weeks, trade defo dropped off as the sale went on imo with the exception of N/S angus steers/heifers which looked a strong trade all the way thru, plenty of strong Fri steers around the £725 mark, still very good prices for anything with meat on/ very well bred/ farmed.

Looked to me today that a lot of people are selling cattle early this year to catch the good trade and if that is the case trade may well be a lot stronger in the autumn than it normally is if numbers are a lot less than a normal autumn!

But there is so much uncertainty with the C word that basically anything good happen over the next few weeks, very uncertain times!

That's my dilemma..... the mind says hang on to them, the bank account would probably say sell them .
I’m in the same situation here. I have a number of 400 kilo stores which I would normally keep on for some time. Looking at recent trade it wouldn’t be difficult to get £900 ish for them. Might be more than that. Feels like dangerous money at the moment not to sell but I’m hanging on in there

What I saw being sold on Wednesday I thought can't be wrong to sell now really but a lot of autumn cattle being sold now so could be sort later, but the c word has not gone away and could easily come back with a second wave, second lock down? Then we really would of wish we had sold. Think I'll sell the bigger ones and maybe hang on to small ones for now. Doesn't quite seem right missing this trade.

We're the same, hedged our bets and sold half the stores last week and selling the rest in September. Happy enough with trade last week 540kg/£1110 (£2.05/kg) for Sim bullocks, £2/kg for 525kg blue heifers.

Talking to local butchers yesterday they are off their feet with restaurants starting back up. 2 of them worked until 2am Saturday morning getting meat cut and there was barely any on the counter by 10am, just a few steaks left. As long as their is no nationwide 2nd lockdown prices should hold
