Well the start of it was lamb from the Southern Hemisphere re directed elsewhere so we ended up with a wider export market.

Covid ? Who knows
I thought lamb trade was up this year due to china needing protein after destroying millions of pigs with swine flu , lamb going to china from aus and nz is lamb that isnt coming here 🤷‍♂️

Had auctioneers from a market on the phone today asking for lambs Iv only ever sold 20 lambs there before and not been again as there payment time was 3 weeks .. lambs seem too be drying up looking at market reports this week all reporting less numbers but price is also dropping 🤨🤨

Which market?

I honestly think a lot of lambs have gone. A lot of very dear running lambs that won’t be killed either unless the job is very good.

Only 1200 store lmbs at cally today, had 3500 a fortnight ago, every single person l know has hardly any stores left bar a few rubbish. Including myself. Still have 30 cast ewes and 25 smalls left. But not for long.

I remember the year on the left. We kept all of the small lambs and in February Niel rang up asking for us to send some in. We had 6 days tb testing ahead of us sheep everywhere and it was snowing. Nevertheless they were a good trade. Anything that could walk in the ring was £60the rest significantly more. I think it had been a bad spell of weather though if I remember right
