I don’t care! It just confirms it is a good sheep which I think it is and still do at home! Believe me it has to be something if I think it’s worth £850 that’s coming from a tight arseNo luck on an £850 tup?! Not even a fiver? The miserable #?*#!
I got one for £650 full brother sold the day before for £5200.I gave 700 for a texel the other day and was pleasantly surprised when I went too the office and they’d left me £20! He was a Scotsman so I was expecting 50p!!
Not always but it’s in the association rule book. You struggle to get it when you set a good one away at £600 and get it with the one and only bid. They don’t like that5% standard luck on swales normaly get it in the office when you pay.
Always nice when that happens, pays for breakfast or bit of diesel! Last year selling Stirks I had an old boy come to me and remind me I hadn’t given him any luck the year before!!! He couldn’t stand up straight but there was feck all wrong with his memory!! LolI gave 700 for a texel the other day and was pleasantly surprised when I went too the office and they’d left me £20! I doubt it's often that luck money goes on diesel!Always nice when that happens, pays for breakfast or bit of diesel! My favourite saying on those occasions is “I was your best man on the day, play silly buggers and next year you will only get too £800”I got one for £650 full brother sold the day before for £5200.
He made a point of telling me
I bought a pen of mule ewe lambs in Longtown last year. Young lad came with the luck and there was £20 more than expected in his hand. I said it was very generous thank you, I hope they do as well as last years. He said the extra £20 is the luck on last years, I had loaded and gone before he had found me! Now that’s genuine of the lad.Always nice when that happens, pays for breakfast or bit of diesel! Mine does!! We’re talking about fives and tens not hundreds!I doubt it's often that luck money goes on diesel!
If the luck covers my food and drink for the day with a drop too go in the tank I generally feel very happy!Mine does!! We’re talking about fives and tens not hundreds!
Times are hard up here, ye ken!If the luck covers my food and drink for the day with a drop too go in the tank I generally feel very happy!
Unfortunately the Scots appear to not understand the concept. 2000 feeding sheep from north of the border and not a single penny in luck!
I’ve never paid so much for feeding lambs up there and still nothing is forthcoming!Times are hard up here, ye ken!

Perhaps a was in order to reflect the separation of luck from business expenses.Mine does!! We’re talking about fives and tens not hundreds!
Let me know next time your in Stirling I’ll tell you which ones to buy to get luck money and I’ll let you decide if you’d rather £20 luck or £20 per head profitI’ve never paid so much for feeding lambs up there and still nothing is forthcoming!
Kind of related, it reminds me of a Scotland the What? sketch:I’ve never paid so much for feeding lambs up there and still nothing is forthcoming!
Nothing changes, my old chap used to go Oban and the islands 30 years ago an he use to love to explain the concept to them! They must of cottoned on it was worth while, he came back with a red an white collie bitch pup off uist once, had her well into her teens, bloody good dog she was!!I’ve never paid so much for feeding lambs up there and still nothing is forthcoming!
I’d settle for £5 on a pen of 50! Not interested in the fancy buggers!Let me know next time your in Stirling I’ll tell you which ones to buy to get luck money and I’ll let you decide if you’d rather £20 luck or £20 per head profit
