That was my exact words funnily enough the man I got the £650 one off paid me well in luckMy favourite saying on those occasions is “I was your best man on the day, play silly buggers and next year you will only get too £800”
But then I’m mean...
It’s only been mentioned a couple of times I promiseAnd I bet you make a point of telling everybody!
You must feed them to well!Oh Dear...How do you guys get on with Aberdeens....Sent a load to Foyle today on the scheme most were to heavy and too fat...4 were 5s...only 22months old...think i will stick to my continentals....3 over 400...as well....they are going to get their big stick out to beat me up
So the moral of the story is either you bought them right or they are tight arses? If the luck covers my food and drink for the day with a drop too go in the tank I generally feel very happy!
Unfortunately the Scots appear to not understand the concept. 2000 feeding sheep from north of the border and not a single penny in luck!
Tight fecker, trades trade, lucks more a gesture of good will and good faith that your standing by your stock regardless of the price!! Fiver a minimum 50p would of been offered back politely with a suggestion of where he could deposit it!!Years ago father bought a dear Leicester tup at Hawes he sent mother for a bit of luck and he hoyed 50p at her. He just laughed too
Must have thought the tup was bought right
Was amanda there? How much attributed to the shepherdess?
Not that one the other oneWas amanda there?
Cant believe it really....4 were 5s...out till 6 weeks ago...yes had a good bit of cake...but thats life wont be doing that againYou must feed them to well!
Mine go at about 24 months 300kg dead, 3s and 4s never had a 5.
Mind you mine get fed fudge all .
Get on fine with em.same feeding as the continentals.send them to ABP as there's more room for maneuver when it comes to fat cover.odd heifer will get too fat but just send them.most around 400kg.Oh Dear...How do you guys get on with Aberdeens....Sent a load to Foyle today on the scheme most were to heavy and too fat...4 were 5s...only 22months old...think i will stick to my continentals....3 over 400...as well....they are going to get their big stick out to beat me up
The first cattle we dropped off in lockdown in March I told the yard man to put a tenner luck with each beast but I was told the office wasn’t handling cash no way of doing it unless you staple it to the passportSome people appear to have forgotten about giving luck money in past few months, I have 4 names who I’ve bought cattle from in Kirkby, no luck since March, yet before they would come and hand it out happily and want to be your buddy!!!!!
Ha just more investigation as to strain it is that's the problemInteresting..... Are u willing to let us in on it.....? Pass on the knowledge....?
Farndale?Went to a local rural suckler sale last weekend and the common luck theme seemed to be a pound in every 100. Smallish type cattle so not many towards a grand.

I would have told him to pee off. If anyone asks me for luck they get nothing shouldn’t be expected but it’s nice when it happens.Always nice when that happens, pays for breakfast or bit of diesel! Last year selling Stirks I had an old boy come to me and remind me I hadn’t given him any luck the year before!!! He couldn’t stand up straight but there was feck all wrong with his memory!! Lol
