Disappointing beef trade again, average down another 6p to £1.99 compared to £2.05 last week and £2.15 the week before, which matches what I have been getting.
Had a shapely little bullock that on prices 2 weeks ago I hoped would make £2.30, took him today and he only made £2.17
Yeh we had a disappointing day at Darlington last Thursday wjat do you reckon Is the cause lockdown?because they couldn't get enough 2 weeks since

My thoughts were that we were all going to be released on Dec 2nd and we would be eating out etc. In reality we went into lockdown in tier 2 and come out of it into tier 3. Wtf is that all about then?

All this lockdown sh!t isn't helping is it! Think I'm right in saying during the first lockdown they couldn't shift enough steaks, maybe it's the same now!
Got 6 left to go now, but it's Xmas sale next week and that's always a bit of a dodgy day to sell on

Its totally crazy, I think the blonde mop needs sectioning for the good of the country , the grief down the road is going to be a nightmare!!!

I was with him at the start but he seems too have lost the plot a bit now... he’s lost control of the situation seriously now and I don’t mind the Covid situation... 2nd lockdown? Has anybody actually noticed a second lockdown? Litrally only the f**king pubs that have been shut! Folk just want too get back too normal now and take the risk they’re fed up of it all now especially when all that they keep hearing on the news is the death rate is next too nothing now think I heard on the radio the other day it’s 97% chance you’ll survive and the average death rate is 87 well f**k me if your 87 youv had a good run anyways

Sorry but IMO that death rate isn’t significant enough too do the damage too the economy that is being done...

Can’t find the facts online but I heard on the radio something like 80% are 82+ years old 18% have are under 82 with health complications and just 2% are totally healthy young people...

The hospitality trade or lack of is starting to have a very large effect. It going to be years before the restaurant’s and pubs recover from this, real damage has been done now.
Trade for beef is very difficult now and lockdown buying habits are different this time around, even steaks harder to shift, mince still easy to sell.
I think people are starting to be a bit more concerned with their future employment prospects and of course there is a lot of competition for their money at this time of year. I fully expect beef to drop significantly from now, particularly if there is a trade deal with the EU as Irish product will start to flow in as Corvid declines and their logistical problems are solved.

We're getting off topic here but the current 7 day average is way more than 56

Owning a pub or restaurant will be a licence to print money once the vaccination has be rolled out and everybody celebrates being alive. Beef trades still ok and december is never the best month, dont believe the propaganda. I agree a deal isnt the best for beef but it isnt a death sentence either
