Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

I’m hearing from a few store buyers that they have the keep but not the lambs.
Maybe they hung off as stores looked dear enough before Christmas hoping they would get less
I haven’t dare ask any of the ones I know of for any of it for obvious reasons

Think we should have a go to page on here somewhere with all the live stream sales that are on each day , there all over the place on the web but some sites don't cover all the sales , then there's ones on Fbook
Be a good idea to put a sticky post with all the livestreams across uk , marts need the encouragement to get better at it , as will be future of / buying/ selling especially when everyone is busy with field work etc

It certainly wont be the future of buying/selling that i can say with some certainty.

Online bidding has its place of course and should always be an option going forwards but the majority of people will want to be there in person to buy/sell when things ease off ref the current regulations in the months ahead and everyone is then allowed back in the markets like pre March 20.

Yes, it needs a link for each day of week for every live stream market across country so there's no messing trawling thru market websites and Fbook pages trying to find markets , theres a few streams on auctionmarts.com but not many, people out of 'parish 'can see what prices are up and down country then , as you say thought the markets would have had this sorted by now , so its all consolidated into one .

Contenental lambs might be dearer in the stores
Mate of mine had his smallest 3/4 bred texel lambs inside for the last 2 months coz he reckoned they were too small too survive. I went down drawing fats for him at weekend. Put all these little lambs out too go.
Took them to Market Drayton, 30kg @ £3.15!!!! Well worth putting the little devils inside!

Pleased to hear this. I put some similar types inside before Christmas which I was thinking the same thing as your mate. Seem to have done well apart from the odd one not keen on cake. Improved fast but I suppose there’s not much body to improve on them sorts

Well done him! I do that all summer just keep pulling the rubbish out, give them everything and chuck them in the shed. They never get big but do he fat! Much better than looking at them stood buy the gate then dieing on a Sunday afternoon. 😂

depends on what you buying , i know a few people that sell stores / 2t through wilton , always the same 3 or 4 buyers on their lots , they know the genetics and trust seller with scab / codd ,(i just dont know why they dont buy privately to be honest ?) i bet they would bid on their mobile if unable to attend a sale same with a lot of ram sales ,

I would agree buying a lot of the heinz 56 that often appears at mart you need to be there , same with couples etc , but anything that increases competition is a good thing , even if just between markets (rather than vendors / buyers) will make the auctioneer work a bit harder if they are aware locals are watching a stream and might travel a few extra miles for a better price , far to many just rely on historic use of sale rings for a customer base .Be honest a lot of the fat lambs could just as easy be bought over the net if they are graded well like sedge and frome do , might save a some of the controversy over multi account buyers

I have just seen the market report for Hereford on store lambs and ewes Tuesday. What a trade to average £97 for stores including a lot of welsh and £176 for in in lamb ewes. Some couples made £109/ life, they might look cheap in a couple of weeks though!
