Was told today that export costs are more than expected

Haulage company's are having to put up their rates as they are wasting so much time at the ports, can be anything from 10/72 hours and that is both way's both across and back.

Also a lot of EU drivers are now refusing to come to the UK due to not only the delays but the fact so many of them were caught up in the testing farce just before Xmas ref the virus!

No one gains out of this political game playing by the UK/French etc governments as the French already have empty supermarket shelves due to the border issues for example!

Lamb kill's are now certainly being delayed due to the problems over paperwork to get the meat 20 or so miles across a bit of dirty water!

If it carry's on for very long i hate to say it but it will certainly effect farm gate prices!
so i assume the animal rights lot are going to move to ireland now , irish just bought a boat to send cattle to libya ffs

Not a new thing, been happening for years. Thousands shipped to north Africa, Turkey and Spain every year. Not a fan of the trade myself but its a big thing for the farmers in RoI trying to help balance supply/demand. Up until now the animal welfare campaigners have zero success in slowing it down.
My point was all the hand wringing going on over the short stretch of channel , when huge boats of cattle being regularly exported from southern ireland ,
im not saying its wrong , just pointing out how much B?S we are putting up with and accommodating a very small lobby group .
