Do not stop posting just because someone disagrees with you, the whole point of a forum like this is to discuss all views on issues ie meat prices for example!

Btw i do not agree with you ref beef and lamb being too expensive, subs will be gone in 5/6 years but in that time no end of extra rules/red tape and costs will be added by Boris to keep Carrie on side, so unless farm gate prices rise a lot more from now there will be a very small British beef and lamb industry going forwards.

Every other industry increases costs when their own costs go up and farmers need to get into this mind set as well!

Thanks, if you read my comment , I said beef and sheepmeat is NOT expensive, so we are of the same opinion

This is the best thread on the forum by a mile. Years ago we only really had farmers weekly and guardian for market reports, opinions, trends in the markets etc. I always thought they got drip fed info by the processors. Usually talking the job down. You could get a bit of crack in your local mart but those farmers would be reading the same publications you were.
On here it's different, I find it a lot better as you get a view from all over the country and the world, it actually feels like it helps farmers stick together a bit for once.

For the last few years I would tell dad something I’d read either on here, Twitter or somewhere else online the night before and he wouldn’t believe me, “no way could it be true” I’d get. Then 2 weeks later he’d read it in FW and FG and phone me saying “f*** me you’ll never guess what’s happened now” The day we moved into the farmhouse I cancelled all his old magazine subscriptions

i stopped the weekly years ago it all adverts and sponsered articles , gaurdian is going the same way ,the standard of journalism is very poor. to many articles about goodlifers with 3 dexters 1 gos sow and 10 hens setting the world on fire. also some of the regulars only want to tell us how good they are. one here you read and talk to real people giving often good advice and far more current than the press.

What finished me with a lot of them was their double page spreads for a certain quite frankly bent yorkshire tractor dealer when they knew full well they were ripping off farmers left right and centre.
