Massive sale at mcCartneys Brecon tomorrow of show cattle and store cattle all streamed live and i see Hereford has a record entry of 1200 cattle a week today. Do many markets still have a draw to determine where they start the sale? Brecon still use it and im not for or against, just asking.
Raglan still draw I think .

FFS there’s almost £10/Hogg off in deductions and there’s still haulage to add
£2 of that is cash I drew off for me. Commission @ 4.75 plus the clipping which I’d have to pay most places anyway. Can’t do it for free myself. The tolls, levy & mic all add up though! Then there is the £1.20 of VAT! But at least that comes back.

But you’re right, it certainly adds up.

We wouldn’t want it anymore for sure ! But at least at a mart you can see where it goes in over head s and they give lots of lads n lasses jobs unlike these lot creeping around with nowt but a swanky car and mobile phone getting rich off the back of farmers .

The yard staff are worth their weight in gold. Bentham and Longtown, my sheep are nearly always sorted better than I could myself. It adds up but as you say, at least you can see where it goes!
