Yes if you can’t find the hoppers beet for 6ft of snow !!!Does it make much difference how high the farm is, if it's covered in feed hoppers and bought in fodder beet?
Makes all the difference in the world

Anyone seen any hoggs and lambs sold recently , particularly Texel crosses?
Where is your auction of choice ??Not his fault for not being there that he had that issue it’s sedgemoor markets fault for having an auctioneer not worth his salt too stand up too the buyers...... .. I’d love too have half a day too stand around talking shite at market but in reality when iv been awake since 4am sorting lambs and start work at 8am and have sheep too check before work the last thing I can be arsed with is waiting around too see how my lambs are graded or weighed... I take my stock too the market I use because I trust there men too grade and I trust the auctioneer too sell my stock at there value, if he doesn’t I’ll find an auction that does
31kg.Come on then experts how heavy? I’m on withdrawal until the 27th but going too weigh for first time this week just too get an idea of what iv got... this lads my biggest lamb me thinks he’s getting a bit heavy

How busting? A charollais ewe made £208 from my “neighbour“ a few weeks agoI think the buyers must have been getting bored by the time they got to my cull ewes at Welshpool today.
8 busting Charollais ewes made £143, one 'thin ' one I'd marked as an A lot in the same pen....£143.
Similarly the other pen had 3 strong A lots, 2 fully shed Exlanas marked C, and 9 smaller, thinner Highlanders. Huge variation, hence marking to sell separately, yet all made £91.
Fit Roussin ram made £100.
A good cheque for what they were overall, averaging £110, but takes some following.
I based my 54kg as a comparison with the donkey in the background ( no offence @Mc115reed )Not as much as you think. He's by one of those white faced liars isn't he....
Impossible to say without handling him IMO.

I sell through Bakewell, have tried 2 other markets and wasn’t happy with them so went back too Bakewell... hearing good things about Shrewsbury so considering sending a load there this time too see how theyWhere is your auction of choice ??
Can’t beat a good donkey.. could defiantly write a book on 101 ways for a Suffolk too die thoughI based my 54kg as a comparison with the donkey in the background ( no offence @Mc115reed )

Well the numbers are now in for Exeter today @Jerry
And it was a RECORD BREAKING day for Exeter NUMBERS wise with a staggering 4661 sheep penned for the prime market which they believe is a new market record !
A record entry of 3094 spring lambs penned sold to trade 2ppk up on the week even thou last week only some 2600 lambs were penned so it = a much stronger trade on the week like for like, several pens over 400 ppk with a top i think of 415 ppk with prices of note 42 kilo lambs at £160.50 head and 41 kilo lambs at £160 head, top for spring lambs was £176 head.
On the above trade is £7.45 kilo deadweight anywhere near high enough??
You clearly have faith in Bakewell, what do you put the Monday market decline in sheep numbers down to ??I sell through Bakewell, have tried 2 other markets and wasn’t happy with them so went back too Bakewell... hearing good things about Shrewsbury so considering sending a load there this time too see how they
They’re a good honest market in my opinion and always friendly, could sell 5 sheep there or 500 and you’d get treated the same IMO.. I think the decline in numbers is due too the majority of there suppliers are hill folk who just don’t have lambs this time of year....You clearly have faith in Bakewell, what do you put the Monday market decline in sheep numbers down to ??
