I must admit I’m looking very very hard at my single lambs… they won’t finish on the parkland grass they have. Had 1 wormer. The best ones would be well on towards £90, smaller ones around £80 from what I’ve seen. Would be nice too have a draw before I start spending on replacements.

Similar.
I've a lot of twin Cheviot wedders nice frame and growthy looking. Not sure how they're handling though - if I got offered £90 for them now, I'd sell the whole lot!

My hill singles surprised me today. There's a draw fat in there once the pour on withdrawal ends next week 👍

If you think that was mental you should of been in Exeter today, nearly 2500 Suffolk x shearling average 194.75, to a top of 270!

Well Exeter's ewe sale today blew Sedgemoor's prices last week clean out of the water!

Over 5000 female sheep ( incl old ewes/ ewe lambs etc ) averaged an amazing £180 head!

2414 Suffolk shearlings averaged an incredible £194.75 head..

500 odd older ewes averaged £150 head....
Exeter ewe trade was always going to blow sedgemoors clean out the water , Exeter entry is always in a different league to sedgemoors

What do people know in the future that I don’t?
Cant decided whether it’s balls of steel or brains left at home
The long keep lambs at a good price are a massive gamble IMO, who says the lamb trade has to go dear in the spring?? But maybe the short keep lambs are a bigger risk, 38kg lambs today 90 something quid in the stores not fat, 38kg lambs in the fat today £95, if the trade drops for a bit in the next week or two, the 90£ stores will look dear when they making 85 in the fat!! Fecked if I know, 🤔🤔🥴

Store lambs never make much sense to me around now

That does not explain todays trade at Exeter in general!

£25 head more for older ewes and nearly £20 head for young ones, very little young suffolks below £175 at Exeter today whilst sedge only averaged £178 for the very poor to the very best!
