Dont let him forget his stick then!
We were at Longtown a couple of years ago, Lee’s at Morley Hill were in with the ring with their first prize pen. I was in at £128 and just before the hammer dropped I got a smack right behind the knees and a hissed “That had better be you!” I wasn’t best pleased! He did apologise as soon as the gavel dropped though! 😂😂

It was the same down here! Between the ages of 7&12 I bet we did a farm sale a month. All within 20 miles of home. It’s 5 years since I went too the last one!
One we went to some of the cows (three of them) jumped out of the ring and ran away auctioneer put them down to me and said ‘the job will be right we will sort a price out’
This was in October they rang up a month later when it snowed and said’ we’ve got your beast in’

I remember back then because 98 was my first year farming, I bought next doors draft yows so I could turn them back to the fell to start my fell flock, they were £22, in 99 the same yows cost me £8. I sold my first mule gimmer lambs in 2000 for £30, don't want to go back to them days
A bad time to be starting, youve done well to get established....on the other hand, maybe a good time if we could buy stock ewes for £2 and £8 !
