yes March/April born calves, rightly or wrongly I just sudden death weaned the calves, they have been eating a good bit of creep for 7 weeks now so should be okay. I just need the cows out of the way before too many more come on the market also we are short of Silage and grazing at the minute so don't want any passengers to house.Fair play good average. Just got in all I'll say store lambs are still bloody dear.@tinsheet how was Blackmoor Gate today?
Buying the best know doubt....... Much in the 70s?Just got in all I'll say store lambs are still bloody dear.
Mr H ripping in to them again.
Ewe lambs Exmoor mules, Suffolk mules, the best were in the £140s mediums £120 + small Suffolks £100+
May have been a pen or to made a bit more didn't see everything sold.
People are jokers.Lanark fat lambs back to 220 ppkg. Down 12/13p iirc. Report saying too many under finished light lambs coming in. Fleshy heavy lambs still making good money.
seems strange dumping them in the fat market when stores are serious money
He doesn't mess about!IBuying the best know doubt....... Much in the 70s?
Many in today? How many do you think he would have had today? He doesn't mess about!I
a few, not very exciting in that range, early 80s will get you some reasonable lambs

Is that really a problem? Your well finished lambs will make just the same, the lean ones just make the average (& market report) look worse. It's no bearing on anything other than the condition of the lambs presented.
If those 'under finished' lambs had been sent deadweight, the same buyers would likely have been lapping them up.
