We have had some out of Lanark and some out of Longtown. They’ve got cheaper as the weeks have gone on. Do you put a ram with any of yours?
We lamb 900 but it’s very rare we tup old ewes that I’ve bought. I put the BFL too a ruck of SBF and Cheviot ewes last back end as I was short on numbers. This year I’m a touch overdone with breeding sheep but short on feeders so they are all going that way this time

Be strong types of ewe out of Lanark will they? Driving up the M74 there looks too be some tremendous blackies around there, so I’d have thought the mules could be the same?
Yeah first year we have bought out of there. Usual did Longtown and Penrith. But they are strong types. A lot more whiter faced mules out of that market compared to Longtown. But whether that’s true of all of them or just what our chap buys us I’m not sure. I’ll see what they’re really like March next year I guess!

St

Started off a very good trade but by the end they weren’t very dear and some vendors would take sheep home. Very pleased with what I bought
I stayed until the end there was some poorer stuff at the end unless you were after Beltex types. When we got ours in a pen they look as good of a batch of tups as we have had but it’s been a struggle to get what we wanted

That's a pen of twelve peas in a pod, out of a total of 370 store calves from the same seller. Fantastic sight to see, and a credit to the farmer.
