I’ve always been told there’s no shame in knowing when they are too dear and walking away. But when you are at the next sale and they drop £20, fill your boots, hat, pockets and have some too carry as well!

Depends what you breed off and what your costs are to produce breeding animals. Sometimes you can buy breeding stock cheaper than you can produce them.

Some fair cattle been sold at the bulls sales today.
No good shutting your eyes, its cotton wool you need for your earsNot often we go to a sale intending to buy and come back with nothing......trouble is our sales to buy breeders are once a year jobs, miss them and youve missed, its now or never, usually just got to shut your eyes and get on with it

Just watched lambs online at Skipton for 1/4 hour. Nothing below £100 and best at £166. They do get some good lambs, but nowt wrong with today's trade.

The further north you go the more singles they seem to sell. I went to Shetland store lambs sale (just for a look
) on Friday and 100’s of lambs sold as singles!livestock 1

Yes a lot of singles at store sales up here.
if you are selling at weekly store sales it can be more difficult to match them up if you sell at the bigger sales it should be easier to do it
