Felt sorry for the vendors in Fort William today. Bad trade, the 2 big dealers and a big finisher who spat his dummy out about the lambs being too dear at the last sale (but he still filled a wagon and drag so they can’t have been that dear?) were elsewhere so lacking in volume buying power. I went in my lorry hoping too pick up 100-120, ended up with 400. Lambs would be back £5-£8 on last sale. Ewes started off alright, by the end folks were taking them home. And I can’t blame them. I’m not going too run myself the last £10 up too value. Ended up with polled lambs, top draw blackie lambs, tup lambs, older tups, cull ewes & ewe lambs. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Not sure WTF I’m going too do with them all yet but if I’d just bought my 120 and left the trade would really have hit the floor. Last store sheep sale of the season there so ended on a poor note unfortunately.

The auctioneer would be pleased to see you.

I hope he 'helped you' get the extra 280 home

It's along hall up to fort william, looks a modern market, l passed it going to ski centre a week ago, hard countryside around there.
Well set up little mart. The sheep out of there do take a bit of starting. They just aren’t used too anything nutritious. They die like flies if you get it wrong but after the first month they are away usually.

The general gist was that I should have had a robbers mask on. I won’t get much “help” from that side! But I like too think I helped where I could! Unfortunately after numerous phone calls I could only drum up 2 small orders for sheep on top of my own!

If it was that poor, why didnt the sellers pass them out,and bring them down to Longtown next Tuesday.A wagon load comes down from Argyll every week.
