I learnt from the balls up that was last year, all my smalls are inside. Along with the “dyer” type ewes. Looking alright, shame about the pasturella but 🤷🏻‍♂️.
still losing too many outside in the cold. Picked 2 up yesterday, a blackie and a cross lamb, 🤬

One of my £175 models laid down and died a fortnight since. I gave it a severe kicking but it didn’t make me feel better. 😒

Always think sheep on roots stood looking pig sick without somewhere dry to shelter in wet weather is awful for public perception.
Had quite a positive discussion with an old lady on my local Facebook page yesterday about a field of lambs that looked like they had “been left too die in a field of mud with no food or shelter” … I posted a few photos of turnips and how they graze them and how good they are for the environment.. i was expecting the full guns blazing keyboard warrior arguement and it actually went very well

My incalf Angus x Herefords did .75 kg a day, on the hill but were getting good silage and fresh grass each day
on a bale grazing set up. (last year)
Iv currently giving group of 47 1/2 acre a day of fresh grass, we have the option to bring them in but,on most days seam very content. I'm just afraid they won't grow fast enough to sell as big stores at 24/26 months.

As a finisher, don't leave them too late to sell. We need 90 days to get them FA, unless you are FA. If they are small at 24 months then they will still be small at 26, get them gone and give the finisher a chance to do their job.
