It took me quite a few years to readjust to the South after spending 5 years living in Glasgow. That’s a ‘Northern’ thing though, and one of the reasons I fell under Mrs NeilO’s spell. It was a job to find a northern lass that had moved to the Cotswolds.
I’ve always found that, the closer you get to the South East, the more false people become. What’s wrong with calling a spade a spade?
Roll on 14th March thenThe misses has made me halve my weekly pints to 5 a week because I'm getting a bit of of a beer belly, but in return I get steak twice a week, so whats bad for the arable farmers is good for the beef boys.

Glasgow kiss if you leave toilet seat upThe Mrs takes no prisoners she’s usually right on judgment of character
She’s from Jock land too
Billy Connelly used to include that in his standup................................."then theres Donald Trump..................... now theres a c*nt".It took me quite a few years to readjust to the South after spending 5 years living in Glasgow.
‘I know I called you a c*nt, but I meant it in the ‘good c*nt’ kind of way’
And yet it’s the pig boys that take a shafting more than the rest of us combined.View attachment 1009579
Saw this on Instagram and thought it might be of interest
Albania is the only country in Europe that eats more beef than chicken or pork
Its only the live markets that are stopping the same thing happening to beef and sheepmeat. And yet it’s the pig boys that take a shafting more than the rest of us combined.

The market report said everything was on fire, and a fantastic trade, but i watched a few weaners on line, and i thought ordinary dairy bred quality were nothing special.Still a long way short of last March-June. Strong stores in Ring 2 at £1800 would be straight to kill, would they not?Didn't see a lot of them to be fair. A few regular sellers of decent quality stuff when I was watching.
The “first” oneOur old vet would come in for a refreshment after a visit. He would always say that the first one just gave you a taste for the second one with the second one giving a taste for the third. We did have some good nights !!
I’m sure they will have done well on the first half of the £70 lambs, the next 25% might be ok but the last 25% need a decent price increase to pay for the extra keep and losses from now on.Alot of those feeder have done alright out of lmbs bought early at 70/80£, a guy from the east of Scotland had 1200 in the ua 400 over 3 weeks and hit those good weeks and would average around 140£, and he didn't pay over 85 for any. So he won't be complaining. May those paying 100+ for stores won't get so much, but who knows nice 44kg lmbs are still good money.
I was talking to a dealer friend a month ago he bought lambs early on £60/£80 in August/September put them on dairy farms then weighed them in October/November and they had mainly been in around the £140 markI’m sure they will have done well on the first half of the £70 lambs, the next 25% might be ok but the last 25% need a decent price increase to pay for the extra keep and losses from now on.
