How much are you paying now?The Price I’m paying for barley I think I’ve donated enough for the arable farmers to pay double

How many rolls are on a pallet?I ordered a pallet of silage wrap 5 weeks ago. £66 a roll…hadn’t been delivered so rang up…said don’t panic you’ll get it…I asked how much it was now snd they said it had gone up £10 a roll in 5 weeks
Do you mix that through a diet feeder?Whole if you mix the night before the oats soak up moisture and soften enough that very little goes through them. Any age 10-20 months steers and heifers.
Think it’s 30How many rolls are on a pallet?
Usually 40Think it’s 30
I couldn’t remember off the top of my head but cheersUsually 40

Do you mind me asking if you are buying and selling store cattle which ones (out of the whole lot) do you think are too dear?
The ones I’m selling I hopeDo you mind me asking if you are buying and selling store cattle which ones (out of the whole lot) do you think are too dear?
Yes I’m pretty much in the same boat as you just the only difference is I’m feeding my own not bought inThe ones I’m selling I hope
On yesterday’s trade the half meated dairy bred heifers £1000-1100. Once you get over £1200 a lot of buyers fall away but under it there’s plenty of competition. They won’t take long to get fit but that still costs and they are costing way more per kg to buy than they are worth to sell. The closer they are to killing the less per kg they need to be with £50 transport/killing costs. Each to their own
Most markets today have been between 228 and 250ppk for hoggs with the exception of Ashford which averaged 259.8 on an increased entry!
Over 52s a real flier at Ashford looking at the report so @Frank-the-Wool should have had a good day.
They could do but means you've got a few more mouths to feed.we've 160 cows but the total number of cattle is currently around 400.If store cattle are a bit dear to buy in maybe folk could breed their own .
Damn, I’ve still got 2 years worth stacked up here. I was hoping too trade a tonne of wool for 500kg of Nitro? Oh well, back too the drawing board
Breeding them is a completely different job to feeding them.If store cattle are a bit dear to buy in maybe folk could breed their own .
Were you buying or selling yesterday? 2nd sale for us this year and very pleased with the tradeThe ones I’m selling I hope

Yes several trials have proven keeping lambs entire will grow faster, and they will finish off of good grass lays and get to heavier weights. It’s becoming more popular to do this and Hereford store sale now gets thousands of them with several buyers chasing them at times coming to more than the equivalent clean lambsDo abattoirs mind lambs with testicals left on them and do they grow any faster? I'm considering leaving all balls on Suffolk x lambs as a trail, lamb mid march onwards and start selling early june.
Kepak up to 575 hoggs, stand on at 350 cows this week.
Several trials have shown that they will tup all yer ewes and yer neighbours if theyve gone lean an not got away in time aswell!Yes several trials have proven keeping lambs entire will grow faster, and they will finish off of good grass lays and get to heavier weights.
