Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Phfft..........................Its a price tracker thread. Everyones got eyes and ears, and if they are at the same auction, you get to know what folk are paying. The best i ever managed to do was turn some Swale wedders from £17.50 to £75.Pity there was only 30 odd of them.Could have done with 3000 the same. I also managed to turn some Mule ewe lambs over at £65 to sell at £68 as Gimmers after keeping them a whole year. Anyway, real time, real prices,i bought 12 stirks out of the weaners at Carlisle yesterday to average £540,from £290-£700.Aged from 6-12 months.
Any pics of the stirks?

Not sure
I don't think they will. As an example there was a farm near us to let on a 5 year FBT of 110 acres. They had 4 bids in excess of £20,000 pa. and they had to buy the entitlements.

The couple who got it both have good jobs and I imagine are looking at it as a way to build up stock and capital as a way to get a bigger farm. In the meantime they have a nice place to live and the house would cost least £1000 pm to rent on its own
Any sheds or just land?

If they don’t get someone in I can’t see how they will get 10k at Martinmas again! Only one auctioneer is an out and out sheep man now and he’s just joined.
The ua will be rubbing its hands with only those two young guys there. Obviously they need a chance but ally would have the contacts and even with him it could be grim some Mondays with stores. Will it be olly selling the stores or the newish man come August.
