If it’s the same wedding we could have both gone and talked about sheep all night. A friend of mine (girl) says Iv only got 3 conversations farming, good times Iv had out when drinking and girls Iv shagged (tried to). None of these are very suitable of wedding small talk.
I think we would get along really wellLast wedding I went to they sat me with 11 royal ag collage students, they learnt more about sheep farming in the evening than they could ever at uni. I drank 3 bottles of red wine, punched one in the face and promptly fell asleep. That was a good wedding.
If feels like we're always being told about it but no one pays much attention but we need reminding. I couldn't believe it not that long ago I'd been putting straw under them in the shed scratching them on the head and given them a bag on the ground every day since they went out and they were just as quiet as inside. At least it was me and not dad or he might have broken his new hip.Farmers weekly are running a series of vids about the dangers to farmers especially at this time of year that ought to posted , they can be viewed on youtube called " Dying to feed you"

Can't be right, lambs were meant to be worthless un-exportable things post brexit that were bought by the government to keep sheep farmers in business.Just read in FG that exports of lamb have reached pre-Brexit levels with volumes up 37% year on year. The EU was the main destination. Perhaps explains why the prices for export type lambs and hoggs has been so good this year.
I think there must be a link between blue bag mastitis and selenium deficiency in ewes and pasturella pneumonia in lambs (bugs getting into the udder from lambs) - we rarely see it in our crossbreds since we got keener on bolusing and HeptavacP'ing (ewes as late as possible before lambing and lambs at two weeks old). Getting nearly 20% of ewes with blue bag mastitis in non heptavacp'd ewes on new ground that turned out bo be very low in Selenium was what triggered our investigation and changes!Have to say I’m not to sure on the cold causes it theory . How can the cold cause a bacterial infection ? Worked with sheep in some cold places and never had bother.
But some farms do seem to get bad goes . Was at a place couple years ago , out of 180 Cheviot Mule gimmers the boy must have had 30 odd gone bad of bag ! Unlucky or something to do with breeding ?
