It’s getting to that stage in the season that a lot of folk are filled up .Store cattle and stirks were less money in Bentham, lots of buyers missing and those that were there had no enthusiasm to buy cattle, even the flying Scotsman was beat yesterday, and for those that know him that doesn't happen very often!!!
There's a lot men down here never get full!!It’s getting to that stage in the season that a lot of folk are filled up .
Now we’re talkingGet some Branston on it
I’m sure but it takes the grass men to give the edge to the trade. There's a lot men down here never get full!!
Richard Hyde will like this comment.....I'm also a great believer in the markets I will quickly add .......I just wish they would start on time !!!
Better start breeding donkeys do they need a cereal diet
Any idea what it was called and what channel?Maybe South American. Grass fed Angus and Hereford. Programme on last week showed them making Corned Beef.Dont know if anyone else saw it but showed some good cattle in Uruguay. Didnt know that the "corns" in Corned Beef was the salt.
It was food unwrapped on channel 4 I thinkAny idea what it was called and what channel?
Awful lot of ungenuine stuff on there, bulls that wouldnt pass the inspection etc, oddments with faults. Anything half decent or reasonable is usually hours away.SML membership fee is good value . We get a lot of cattle off SML . I agree there are many chancers but many is the time I go onto a farm to buy something and come away with more than advertised ........and I go when it's convenient for me !
.........and I'm not hanging around waiting for someone to ring a bell to start selling 3quarters of an hr after the sale time is advertised .
p.s. Also sell ,as you say there's is no commission unless you use their banking system ,which I dnot .
I didnt go but i heard there getting harder to place and the average things didnt make a tump.Anyone get to Hfd yesterday . Just wondering what the stirks were like .
I only stayed at longtown long enough for the older stuff then shot over to hexham for their sale, I thought the quality at longtown was less but they were dearer than hexham, didn’t buy any at longtown but got some at hexham whereas the week before I couldn’t touch the hexham stuff.Seems like they werent as dear as Hexham.
It's every market !!Richard Hyde will like this comment

Just picked up a very good Hfd bull 20 miles awayAwful lot of ungenuine stuff on there, bulls that wouldnt pass the inspection etc, oddments with faults. Anything half decent or reasonable is usually hours away.
Do you make them an offer when you get there? They all look too dear for meSML membership fee is good value . We get a lot of cattle off SML . Yes . I'm on it first thing every morning doing a 25 mile radius search and if there is something that catches my eye I send a text . Quite often I don't buy what's advertised but end up with something else .Do you make them an offer when you get there? They all look too dear for me
