That was my job as a kid go and catch folks for luck when father was buying cattle
My father used to buy the odd pedigree dairy cow from Lancaster and York. I often would go with him and miss school. Dad asked for some luck from a seller in York, wouldnt give him any but gave me a 50p piece. "and spend it wisely" he replied.:ROFLMAO: Would be in 1971 as an 11 year old.

Make sure your trailers and trucks are all in order as the Police pulled in dozens of them on Monday in Exeter just outside the market and hauled them off to Vosa's yard and found faults with nearly every single one of them!

Even found some so called faults with a brand new pick up that only left the showroom last week !

Not sure what the times were but they pulled in some on the way to market and no end as they went home but think they were gone by 2 pm, of course now there is only one way out of the market due to the road works so they caught everyone like rabbits in a headlamp!

They were giving everyone 1 hour to fix all faults or were giving them a fixed penalty notice of £80 on top of everything else!

And they wonder why the police have lost all respect from the rural community!!

They are on the M5 all day every day in unmarked top of the range cars pulling people in, also the dual carrigeways doing the same or parked on the bridge/ in a layby with the speed cameras but will you ever see one walking the local area, like hell you will.

D+C police big wig said the other day that the only two areas they were going to concentrate on is speeding and farm/ rural vehicles on the roads.

In Cornwall a couple of weeks ago they were apparently pulling in silage trailers and booking them for not having their loads covered!
