I have got 100 plain Beulah and Welsh broke mouth ewes straight off there lambs donā€™t know weather to cash or graze any thoughts on trade next few weeks
Told last week the plain ewes are back quite a bit, Welsh an such like! The buyers were saying ā€œwhat do you want at Xmas dinner, big fat turkey or scrawny pigeonā€ makes sense really! If there meat killā€™m, if not an youā€™ve got room an grass, wean them an graze for a month!

But the trade will likely be Ā£20 less in a month when droves of ewes come forward? If your holding on be aswell holding until Xmas when the trade usually picks up again. But who knows, ewe trade has been a bit difficult to follow last year or so.

Cattle were a good trade in Gisburn yesterday. There was a better trade than spring for 8-10 month stirks, little soft Hereford heifers Ā£650-750 that would melt outside. Virtually anything 18m+ was Ā£1100, yet people moaning about costs and the end price not lifting, and as everywhere a bigger show than normal for the time of year. Madness
Ā£1100 for 18 months is long way short imo .
