We're seeing them in North Wales atm. all in market averages this week.I haven’t seen any ewes lately around 50kg for £50 that would kill anywhere near 40%

A lot of plain ewes? Even Swales have been doing £60 and there’s not much meat on themWe're seeing them in North Wales atm. all in market averages this week.View attachment 1054493View attachment 1054494View attachment 1054495
Not this week they haven’t, lean hill ewes are sliding fast. Wether it’s the lack of grazing ewe demand at the moment I don’t know?I t

Fortnight/3weeks early? But it’s a funny year! I’ve weaned most of mine. Now and much earlier than normalSeasonal glut? - everyone weaning lambs now so cull ewes will be everywhere
Just slow demand/backlog it seems, good heavy £140+ ewes in those averages.I t

This year with the grass shortage I think they're better weaned because with little grass they're stalling. Weaned 200 about 3 weeks ago that were on some fields where the spring had dried up. They've gone onto a field that was mown 16th June and they're doing much better. Ewes who were getting to thin are looking a lot better as well. As a bonus they're drinking much less water so I'm not having to cart it 5milesFortnight/3weeks early? But it’s a funny year! I’ve weaned most of mine. Now and much earlier than normal
There going on the dead so will have what they are given, hope the average 21kg @5.50.They’ll be needing light ones next week
Probably have to pop my trousers down and accept I’m going to get rapednortheastfarmer what would you do if Larry bought Woodheads? Just asking.
Saving the best till last ?I'm the Last bunch of theaves to go through next, always a risk.
I thought they had missed me off but I'm now in the catalogue but last. I suppose someone has to be first and last.
You would be better being first than last where you are at the moment i think. Tell them you have a sudden hospital appointment later that day,and can you slip them in earlier.I'm the Last bunch of theaves to go through next, always a risk.

More likely dealers looking too for 1 last pen too fill the wagon up… or farmers who have been too tight all the way through the sale thinking there too expensive then they realise they’re going home empty if they don’t put there big boy pants on…Dealers waiting for the bargains when everyones filled up more like.
Are you not looking to specialise in pure Swale fattening hoggs this season ? They will be cheap and show a good margin. MaCleary is looking out for some for you.Not this week they haven’t, lean hill ewes are sliding fast. Wether it’s the lack of grazing ewe demand at the moment I don’t know?
Yeah,it can fall that way too.More likely dealers looking too for 1 last pen too fill the wagon up… or farmers who have been too tight all the way through the sale thinking there too expensive then they realise they’re going home empty if they don’t put there big boy pants on…
I do it every time, sit there countering they’re too expensive the whole sale… then realise I’v had a day off work and drove 2 hours and I’m going home empty if I don’t man up… then end up paying more than if I’d just bid up at the start the saleYeah,it can fall that way too.
