There ain’t many herds left near us and a lot are a dozen cows wound down form maybe 30 cows 20 years ago
Too much thatchersI'm the opposite at the moment ..... just seem to keep gathering them up .
There's quite a few 'hobby' farmers who ave got no grass around here and are off loading 'pet' cows . They put them on 'pre-loved' or 'SML' and very often quite cheap . Have bought 7 in the last 2 wks .Too much thatchers
always looking on the bright cider of life and keep getting more cows
Know of a few 30-50 suckler herds but there as common as a sheep farm to be honest, predominately dairy down here and it’s rare to see a herd of under 300 milkers. No people with 20/30 cows left round here now, couple of 200/300 cow herd but no small producers.
It’s possible, you just need a BIG clamp and the balls to get in the hole while its gushing and get the fitting on.
Or goggles?Your missing a trick , you can get clamps now that tap in live without you having to wear armbands
Brass saddleback connectors work really well too. Have used them a couple of times with no problems on live pipesYou can tap off live mains up to 7" with these no bother

When I was in they had the usual boxes for Sainsburys, Co-op, Lidl, but they also had trays of kneecaps, all nicely packed, going to China, and trays of the rubbery tendon from the back of the head all going the same way. And they weren’t for the dogs to chew on either !Yes they mature the individual cuts in the vac packs, much of the rest will be long sold/eaten by the time they come out. Don’t forget not all of it by any means ends up on Supermarket shelves these firms all have multiple meat brands of their own for the wholesale trade, it’s quite interesting if you go on their websites
