How do you get on with the garford,,farmer in next village has one and nick named it the scrap heap challenge ,,if they can get a full days lifting with it ,they do well ,,it drops to bits more times than its running .His staff could happily take the gas axe to it and slice it up

It isn't too bad. Has a few hiccups. But harvests our small acreage nicely. (40ac) and is lighter than having a 6 row tanker running around

Looks in decent nick, 40ac wouldn't take long with a 6 row, we had one for several years, fed by parts from two scrap machines, was very cheap harvesting until we ran out of parts.

Same here. Well the few parts what fit from our old 4 row. Lots different on the 6. Doesn't take long at all though had some awkward shape fields this year :/

I always thought it could do with a 5t buffer tank, just to speed up headlands, swapping trailers and even help one trailer man keep up from the clamp.

Yeh. Well they made a 4 row and 6 row tanker. Don't think there's many around tho. Would be perfect then.

She was good on it. Gave her a good clear out too. It's been relegated to sweeping duties this year :/. Might be back on next year tho if we get a front power harrow for the combi drill

Maybe you need to watch a video of cutting knackered bearings off rusted shafts in the dark and cold, repairing broken webs etc, just to cure the desire!
