BFS? Aren’t they air inclusion bubblejets. Good for fungicides etc but didn’t think they could do a fine spray for small weeds. Years since I have looked at them though.

I do a lot with them, probably far too much, in other crops and at 2.5-3bar I find they give good coverage.

Would they hit blackgrass at one leaf? Personally I think the root of a lot of blackgrass problems was sacrifice of flat fans on the altar of LERAPS by the high priests of 3 star ratings. Oh yes we had low drift, but blackgrass was laughing at big gobs of spit every now and again.
I am still looking for an affordable compromise, and presently my Arag low drift orifice plate type nozzles do the job, think. They dont have a rating.

Well I don’t normally target BG at 1 leaf either I use pre-ems or wait until 3 leaf of BG. Agronomist maybe gives me BS but apparently my applications work better than a lot of people’s 🤷🏼‍♂️

Got my first dose of herbicide on this morning. Frost not as sharp last night and plants seem hardened to it anyway. Zero wind for once. A litre of oil as should not be over 14 degrees today and traditional old mix. Kill or cure. Getting past caring. Lots of weeds about at cotyledon. A bit more warmth and they would rocket. Beet stuck at cotyledon or not emerged. A few annoying nozzle blockages but sorted. Anyway at least I don’t have to think about it or look at it for a few days which is good.👍
