Beet Topper Knife

As title, looking for a beet topper knife to fit Standen Cyclone.
2 holes at LHS of knife which take M12 or 1/2", then it sweeps back to RHS . About a foot long, 2" wide tapering away to a point.
Part worn would do. Different to trailed harvester knife as they have bolts at RHS but could turnover and regrind bevel if enough metal left.
Just need to get to end of this season.
Cheers.

Ha ha. The knives are still working OK but being sharpened daily I think they won’t last the season. They get thin and springy and then flex into the topper wheel jamming it.
Plan B is to weld some flat metal along the back edge to stiffen them up to keep me going. Won’t wear through the ground edge this season but they will get too thin and springy without that backing. They are boritic steel so not easy to substitute as far as I know though some leaf spring might be better than nothing. Still going OK today but a bit stickier in the drizzle. Lifting round electric poles and awkward gesrings. Can’t go full throttle as it’s backing up at the factory.

This is it, worn back a bit. Originally sharpened edge is straight. I’ll bet there are hundreds laid about.

Irl have a look to see if I’ve got anything left but got a feeling I scraped what bits I had off my old standen could you not weld some straw chopper knives on to it

Just a thought, but some time ago I wanted a hay knife. Finally found one in a catalogue probably intended for the 3rd world. The company made one up for me -- £40 which was the list price and a real professional job too. Next time I looked, the price was £100 so they'd learn their lesson! But they did make it for me (£40). There must be Birmingham factories still making this sort of stuff.

Thanks for looking.

They look a bit thin TBH but thanks for looking.
I have standen turbo beet.. would they be the same..

The Cyclone knife has the bolt holes at the LHS.
Most trailed Standen machines have the holes at the RHS, but I don't know if that is a general rule. It would be possible to convert the RH knife to a LH knife by turning it over and grinding the leading edge bevel the other way but it would waste a lot of material.
I have welded a piece of 4 mm flat onto the back of my worn knives to stop them flexing too much and jamming the topper wheel. They had started to spring up into the wheel and jam it.
I think my old reinforced knives will last this season but if I sign up for another year I will need to manufacture some new ones from the right type of steel.

Probably easy enough to get the steel, but how do you drill the holes? Just curious.
