Its an extra £0.06 per ton on transport from last year?
So don’t think Simon would have got £50 odd K? Say his yield was half (like most of us) 42k beet x £0.06 = £2.5k?

After the last two years, it’s been a pleasure this. Harvest all done in dry conditions, beet moved quickly, wheat already coming up on the beet fields. Best year I can remember I think for everything other than price received!Well all the beet have gone!

I've not lifted any yet. Just 20ha this year. They are due out next week with a planned delivery between Xmas and New year. We could take the deluge we had last year (70+ mm just before Christmas ) and still be fine to lift.

The beet job this year seems very quiet, I went to Yarmouth Sunday and from snetterton to the White House on the A11 and 47 I didn't see a single beet lorry going either way.
How come your haulier lets you lift it all early?!?!

Our first lift was 8/9th November, in the correct period. The beet are still sitting waiting to be moved by BS haulage. There are beet piled up on farms all around here waiting for movement. Shambolic.

Heard of a sizeable grower in West Norfolk who as begun carting into factory with tractors and trailers, because haulier short of drivers, lorries stand in yard wanting!
Why did you choose to use BS haulage?

Because if I use any other hauliers I would have to pay a few thousand pounds a year over and above the transport allowance from my location.
That’s a very compelling reason!!!!
