Behaviour of the Public (well some)

Listening to the radio news whilst pushing slurry about, I heard an angry senior police officer berating those who had left their homes for a jolly beside the sea.
He was raging, rightly in my view, about how some were treating this crisis as a holiday.

Add that to the emotional video of the critical care nurse who couldn’t get basic foodstuffs at the end of her shift as the result of panic buying, and one can only conclude that we are an inherently selfish nation.

And of course there are those of wealth who have fled to their second homes from urban living bringing who knows what with them to largely virus free areas.

Time to oil the gun and man the barricades ... or ?

Putting this pic in this thread too as a reminder of what society can quickly reduce too,
Sainsbury’s staff blockading an aisle so they can restock shelves

I don't know how many of the population are laid off on 80% pay, but it's bound to have exacerbated this issue significantly. No work, and still being paid.....

Watching TV while having my lunch. Why all the supermarket ads announcing reduced prices and special offers? I assume they were pre-booked before the crisis and couldn't be cancelled.

Yes, sorry for the young nurses especially as I know how hard they work from recent experiences, but isn't this also symptomatic of the younger generation who live hand to mouth on ready-meals? The fact that she was a nurse makes an emotional appeal that few (especially me) can ignore, but young people also need to be taught that it is possible to make bread from flour and not everything needs to come pre-prepared in packets?

I blame the government, yes i know evryone should think for themselves, but at thd start only a week back or so , it was carry on as normal to 80% of you its no worse than a common cold , but make sure you sing happy birthday twice . He should have given both barrels from the start . Pissing about will cost lives . Planes are still coming in to Heathrow from Italy and China

Local supermarket manager complaining on Facebook, about people buying their ration limit, going out, coming back in and buying more.
When their ration limit is one litre of milk per buyer and you've driven five miles or more to do your regular weekly shop, it's pretty understandable.

For those people who are struggling to store all the extra stuff they,ve bought from the supermarkets. Machine Mart has come to the rescue.
They've just sent out an email headed "Need extra storage space ?" Seems they have the solutions in stock.

Clarkson’s article in today’s Sunday Times is very downbeat and atypical of him.

I will quote the final few sentences as they sort of sum up all this sh!t ...

I’m sorry to be so morose this morning. I’m not normally an unhappy person. But right now, among the death and despair and the absolute destruction of our way of life, I see absolutely nothing to smile about. I think the world as we know it is ending.
And I wasn’t ready for that.
