I believe that planning objections are also logged against the objectors address so if for example one of baldricks neighbors objected to a planning application for a new dairy unit saying it would detract from the value of their house, spoil the enjoyment of their home etc etc it would show up on a search at some point in the future if that person wanted to sell their house so if they had objected on unfounded concerns they could well have devalued their own property.
