Hey All,

Have been quoted for some Belshina tyres, but I've never heard of them, looked on the internet and it seams they come from Russia. They are quite a bit cheaper than others, so obviously there is a reason. Has any one had anything to do with them. Good, bad, indifferent, all experiences/ ideas gratefully received!

I have some cheap Russian radials on an old Ford 6600, must be 25yrs old and still sound, so I wouldnt let the Russian bit put you off too much.
You probably wouldn't put them on a frontline tillage or transport tractor though, but they would do the same as anything else on a scraper/yard tractor that rots tyres long before they wear out. How much cheaper though? Wouldn't do it for a 10% saving myself.

Under most slurry tankers, 28.1R26
And 30.5R32 but not on many tractors, mightnd be the best but depends on what you need them for

I need the tyres to go on our TX66 combine, the original Goodyear's have split in the centre of the tread and are non repairable. The combine is a 2000 model with plenty of life left in it. My options range from Michelins at about £3200 per tyre down to the Belshina's at about £1300 per tyre, with plenty in between.

Given the age of the machine the Michelins and a couple of other pricier ones are out of the running, used options are on first glance attractive, however by the time I have bought them, freighted them down to me, and then paid for them to be fitted, the difference between the used ones and a supply & fit price is almost nothing.

That then means that I'm looking at the more "affordable" options. The difference between the Belshina's and the next one up the price range is about £250 per tyre, so with needing both tyres to be replaced that difference is now £500, and in my view not some thing to be ignored.

However I am mindful that my neighbour had some budget tyres fitted to a 2nd line tractor and used up all the purchase price savings in constant puncture call outs.

This is the thinking behind the request for any one with experience with the Belshina brand.

Thanks

Put a set on the combine two seasons ago 800/65/32 I think . No problems so far. Not to sure at running them a low pressure but have them at 22psi and when the tank is full they seem ok. Do a lot of road work also.

When you think of the hopping and pounding they get on most slurry tankers, they can't be that bad.

That's certainly true, but the load rating of the Beloshima 28.1x26 tyres are about 4.5 tonnes, 2200 gal is about 10 tonnes, so adding the tanker weight and the bouncing they do ? No surprise that they do give bother if not inflated to a high pressure.
