I'm going to do the PTO output shaft on my 6820 sometime shortly. Genuine JD parts are £910. Bepco can be got for £340. What's folks opinions on the quality of bepco stuff?

Do you mean the PTO shaft or do you mean the gears inside? is the PTO shaft itself not removable for going between 6 spline and 21 spline

I put a bepco crank in a 6310 7 year ago and it’s still running fine. I could tell the difference between the bepco and a the jd though in the manufacturing finish but it’s still running so can’t be that bad.

The PTO output shaft which has the receiver for the PTO stub shaft. The splines are well worn on the stub shaft and the receiver so both parts will need to be replaced

I know it was owed by JD 6 years ago when i was at main Exeter distribution Centre, as they had 2 display counters, one with Vapourmatic stuff, and 1 for JD stuff.
One thing I was surprised about was them sending parts worldwide from Exeter
Its not unusual in other countries to get tractors or parts either out of the UK or US to bypass local dealers because with shipping/freight and import tax it's way cheaper than buying from our local JD dealer_stealer!!!
To put it into perspective, I believe we only have "one" JD dealer for all of the North Island of NZ oddly owned by a Canadian company.

Yes could well be true, the time I was there, they were putting up an order for 8 tonnes of parts to go to Brazil that week, and Nick told me it was regularly around that quantity, they were putting orders up for all around the world.
Was quite interesting going through the sales department, there must of been into the teens of sales people, and half of them were talking in a foreign language to customers, in the warehouse again lots of staff picking orders for dispatch.
It was a very interesting 3 hour tour, and the scale of it was far far bigger that I ever expected, there was 1 big shed alone, held all the original manufactured parts, that drawings had been taken of by a machine, that machine cost 100s of thousands alone, and not only scanned the part, but gave 3D images accurately to within 1.2 thousands of an inch, so copies could be made,
I really enjoyed getting chance to see the set up, it's not open to the public,
