ive looked i cant find one with a adjustable comb for any lessGot an AYA yeoman side by side, cost me £80 and it's used for clays, pheasants, rabbits and pigeons.
I could go out and spend 2k on a gun tomorrow and be no better with it.
yes the local gun dealer know of 686 evo with oneThe problem you will have is finding an adjustable stock ( if you haven't already found 1) just had a quick look on guntrader and I think there's only 2 listed.
Why 28 inch 30 seems more popular these days. I'm only a game shot though so clays may be different.
Bg
i couldnt see up down the rib of the maxus until i raised the combI'd rather go for a brand new silver pigeon for that money.
I shot with a bloke who was for ever changing his chokes, cartridges, even had several coats and jackets with him, which he changed over the day. Also had weights in his stock that he kept tweaking. He wasn't even a very good shot.
Same with salmon fishing. Some blokes changing lines and flies and lengths of rods, and weights of reels...even the colour of their hooks.
Depends if you are a fiddler or not, but I'm not convinced about all this "adjustable" nonsense.
very nice have fun the local dealer doesn't have one to try and ive tried a few o/u guns and all i have tried so far that fitted me have had a raised cambView attachment 392892 Funily enough, I bought this today. Berreta Silver Pigeon £1375. He offered me a second hand 686 evo at the same money. Didn't like it at all. I agree with what everyone else has said about all the adjustable stuff. Who is going to tell you what is right.
im sure one would do me if i could find one with a adjustable combid rather have 12 baikals
Retrofit one, maybe? I'm sure I've seen kits for sale.im sure one would do me if i could find one with a adjustable comb
ive already got a semi auto that set me back £950the fecken o/u will be more stillo wellMy side by side cost 120 and its the only shotgun i'll ever need
i did think about that i just seems a pain in the arse dont know if you could ever get it to look rightoh and the kits have to come from the USRetrofit one, maybe? I'm sure I've seen kits for sale.
Fair point. I'm the worst carpenter in history!i did think about that i just seems a pain in the arse dont know if you could ever get it to look right
That's an FN Browning Auto 5 and is worth considerably more than £95!Here's mine (old picture, when I was slumming it in an L200). If it's good enough for Bonnie & Clyde and the SAS in Malaya, it's good enough for me!

dad must be a close second thenit would have to be centered perfect to are you would end up putting cast on one way or the other that you didnt want to!Fair point. I'm the worst carpenter in history!
Yes they will do the same job but it's the difference between a skoda and a Mercedes - or a Zetor and a Fendt.id rather have 12 baikals
yes a gun isnt balanced isnt nice to swing! a nose heavy gun is the worst!Yes they will do the same job but it's the difference between a skoda and a Mercedes - or a Zetor and a Fendt.
They both can and do the same job - just one is significantly nicer and easier to use and isn't pig to handle - a bit like using a very well balanced hammer and the other a rock
I'm a dealer - I know a bargain when I see one! That's an FN Browning Auto 5 and is worth considerably more than £95!
A fantastic classic and highly sought after gun - in short that is the best Auto ever made !
your doing well there thensection 1s can be very common?I'm a dealer - I know a bargain when I see one!
...or two, as it happens. I have two of them - one is a Section 1. (Y)
Quite true. There seems to be a bit of inverted snobbery on here. If the OP had asked about a new pick up truck, I doubt the majority would be steering him to a FSO polenez or 2nd hand Tata load-beta. No. They'd be waxing lyrical about the luxurious comfort of their new Ford, Nissan, not to mention the Disco 4 getting a look in. My advice to @Joe S would be. If you're going to spend a serious bit of folding on a nice gun? Rather than go for something with an adjustable comb, get over to the mainland to someone like Ian Coley or another reputable gunsmith, they'll help you find one that's going to suit and alter the stock. Not just the comb but the whole lot. Length of pull, drop etc. It won't cost too much, some of the better ones will do it as part of the deal. It'll be far better than just raising the comb. Not to mention a good Berreta or Browning will last years if looked after and depreciate very little.Yes they will do the same job but it's the difference between a skoda and a Mercedes - or a Zetor and a Fendt.
