Looking for advice on choosing between these round balers. We need hassle free reliability with minimum down time. Does anyone have thoughts?

Good question. We were looking to buy at least to begin with.. We need to make a start somewhere.
So second hand?

Its a minefield buying a S/H baler.

Over the last few years we had two older S/H balers, they were OK however always niggles and issues.

Year before last we bought a new Kuhn and 5 years interest free finance was on offer.

The finance costs us £300 a month which is affordable and it’s the best thing we have done.

A baler which we know what it has done, you just hitch and go,no hassle. (y)

Sorry.. Looking to buy *new at least to begin with. Which agrees with your assessment.

Between the Mchale and Kuhn baler for me. The Mchale would be first choice. Really a good baler and we do silage. Where we have done drier materials it really does an excellent job.

The Kuhn auger rotor system works well. John Deere also have it.

have a mchale 5500, but the intake of the kuhn would be very hard to beat. biggest downside to the mchale is the intake is poor in lght crops or wet crops i find, but then welgar is the same intake.
