cheers Munkel and everyone else for their replies.Facom ones are awful, at least the one i saw was.
Beta is good
Bahco are alright
Draper make a pretty decent one for the money, I have one still for home toolkit. I like the twin handle ones, but maybe not suited to everyone.
The metal and the rivets are cheap. The linkages go loose after a while.cheers Munkel and everyone else for their replies.
What makes the Facom one terrible? Looking by photos online they seemed the best option? Was drawn to them by what look likes to be reinforced linkages on the folding mechanism. Had problems with others with the linkages bending and being a pain to open. So thought it looked well designed!
Any good plastic cantilever toolboxes out there ? If you're lifting the box in and out of a vehicle, the extra few kgs of a metal box can get wearing.
Thank you Munkel, went with your Beta recommendation, very impressed with the quality! The metal and the rivets are cheap. The linkages go loose after a while.
lad at work has the smaller 2 tray one and it's shocking how cheap and nasty it is, the locking hasp looks like it came from a christmas cracker.
I like Facom tools in general, but none of their tool boxes have ever impressed me. Even the super expensive roll cabs they used to do were shoogly (about 10 years since i've seen one though)
If buying for myself again, I'd probably try to find a good deal on a Beta one.
