That's why it normally says Bare or Body only.... Not rocket science whatever the make or model number.

Any more links for sub £100 Makita saws even the dodgy facebook ones.

Of course the listing is bogus, it is in Liverpool!
What you can get is a 20” 62cc 2 stroke Hyundai for a hundred quid or so plus VAT. I got one just before Christmas.
Hyundai Power Products was where it came from. I think it has a years warranty so worth a go.

I have the Makita, it's great. If you already have a good cordless drill (Makita, de Walt, others) then see if they do a matching chainsaw.

Battery is much better than petrol for 99% of users.

Battery one? I’ve got a makitta one being delivered tomorrow. Wanted something for cutting rails when fencing and knocking the odd branch off. Can live behind pickup seat and won’t stink the place up with petrol. From what people have told me that have them and reviews online they seam to be ok. obviously not going to tackle a big fallen tree but Gand for little jobs.
I have had one for a year or so, brilliant little saw for fencing, logging old posts etc. Couldn’t do without it know.

Anyone used one of them 62cc Hyundai branded saws?

I’ve got a Husqvarna which is perfect for 90% of jobs I do with it just sometimes it doesn’t feel big/powerful enough and don’t fancey spending a fortune on a fancey big saw that’ll do nothing most the time

It's just the Chinese c**p saw, that's sold with so many different outside skins and brands. If you want a big old reliable firewood saw... Then find a Husquvarna 272, 372? 282, 288 etc, can be found,or Stihl, but I've no idea what models

I'm after a small 18" chainsaw to do small jobs with.
Any ideas which brand to go for and why.
I know someone who bought new saw from Charlie's it's not a husky but for all I know could have been made in same factory but it's a good saw and I have no connection
with Charlie's at all
Charlie's sell thousands of saws a year

I spent more than this getting my Sthil repaired last week, when the theives next break into your workshop at least it will be less distressing when one of these get nicked in fact they may well not bother taking it.

Mate of mine cuts for a living he just got a Sthil 881 with a 48" bar that's some beast when he's in about some big beech!!
I've got an 880 with a 48" bar and I dont rate it as a felling saw .
We knocked down some monster populars with a 661 on 36" bar much less
bar flex and easier to operate.

I have a 3120xp with a 42" bar I use for milling, would be a horrible thing to use for felling and even cross cutting would be a fairly unpleasant experience with it. Much better with a 661 or 395xp. A 36" bar must be on the upper limit or even over the limit of being balanced on a 661?

I have a 30" bar on my 395xp and a 25" bar on my 288XP and the 288XP feels about right balance wise.
