I know the title is a bit of 'the best of a bad bunch', but due to circumstances i dont wish to discuss here, im looking for the best bank to open a business account with.
N.b. this will be for an agricultural business

Good reports about Handlesbanken — but I have no need to change from Lloyds at the moment.

We have been with them for a number of years and they dont bother you but if you want some thing about two rings of the phone they will answer in your bank

Are they restrictive in who the take or have you been with them a long time. A friend enquired but I don’t think he had enough turnover.

A lot comes down to the local " relationship manager ' - or whatever fancy title they have . Trouble is the good ones soon get moved higher up the tree, or get sick of the sh!t they get from on high and take early retirement
The relationship managers cant really do much at all, other than take all the details, give a brief write up,and pass the proposals on to their credit teams. It is them that make all the decisions, based on EBIT,their tests for affordability etc. They have set computer formulae to do this. Its not like in the old days where your own Bank manager could make all the decisions himself.

Yes & No,
for example, Mr A dealt with an urgent issue in 1 week
Mr B thought urgent meant 2 months with 4 phone & 3 email reminders.

Handelsbanken are great - my personal account is with them, would happily move my business banking to them if i had good reason to

also have a none farming business with Starling who are very simple and low cost if requirements are simple

both make Lloyds (who we use for farm and another business) look like a dinosaur
