Best Cordless hammer drill

Our Matika drill (or rather the battery) has given up the ghost,

Rather than buying a new battery (which is dearer than the bloody drill!) I may as well buy a new cordless drill,

Which one should i go for and which batteries are the best?

Also, where's best to buy it from?

depends what you want to do, bosch do 36vlt lithium battery which is as good as a mains drill but heavy, but for smaller stuff millwalkee do very good 18 vlt lithium, what ever it has to be lithium battery's

try and see local builder merchants as they can vey often do deals and normaly can get 2cnd battery chucked in

All Hitachi here. 18v. Loads of grunt. Use it for everything from workshop to fencing.

Got a impact driver and angle grinder to make use of the batteries.
The angle grinder is particularly good (in the confines of a cordless!!). Million times better than brothers matika. Which only looks at a piece of steel &it dies!
One of those tools you think you don't need but once you have one you don't know how you did without!

Look at Costco online. They have an excellent offer at the moment for a 18v Hitachi 4ah combi drill and a impact driver with 2 lithium batteries for £329 including vat and delivery.
Also you get a drill and screwdriver set free plus a site radio direct from Hitachi which retails at £99!!

Hitachi drill is the most powerful available I have used and my last one has just had new brushes after 5 hard years and that's it!!
