We got strainers 5 years ago from our local supplier and they're totally rotten, I'm told they came from Poland. If I remember I'll take a picture tomorrow. Absolutely shocking

Got some strainers stacked I the yard , been there a week or 2 before we usd them, they've leaked ,
stinking mess.I really cant see why CCA was banned as a health hazard

i use them, get better rate bulk and there quality posts
Only thing is their strainers are very very expensive, better to get something like electric poles for straining post and use the clipex for intermediates ir

What about the plastic posts that are made from recycled plastic? Won’t rot or rust. 30 year guarantee on some of them

Posts were purchased in Spring 2015.The fencing went up during 2015 and spring 2016, some have actually been in the ground less then 4 years!

I got 30 strainers from that guy Tom O'Neill in Ayr, 15 year guarantee and have the points so I can use my post driver. I would only get the intermediate posts from Clipex

Someone did mention chestnut posts before on another thread last year. I forget the supplier though.
Must be a fortune to be made if you had a supply of the right posts and some nasty chemicals to dip them in.

These shouldn't rot as strainers basically a reinforced pile. @yin ewe should know a bit about them.

Clipex will be good - I have a lot installed now. It is a system, though, in that the posts and wires match up with each other - for clip spacings. Check first with your Clipex dealer - but I think they do different posts for different nets/wires.
Hampton's new metal posts are an option too....
Agree with others - I'm buying creosoted posts for intermediates - and going up a size, so they will take longer to rot.
Nothing worse than going back to re-timber a fence - do you do it at year 5-6 or year 10 when the wires are all trampled down into the ground? I was getting 4-5 years too.
