How far off making good hay would your haylage when baled generally be ?
Maybe just a few hours of hot sun depending on what type of grass, the westerwold could need a couple of days due to moisture in the nodes, got caught out 25 years ago bales some ryegrass that was covering the turner as I tedded it felt dry, over dry if anything when baked felt fine bales not over heavy put it in the stack and it sweated quite badly, was ok for cattle but not good enough for horsey folk. These days I always split open up the nodes and see if I can squeeze moisture out.

If anyone is interested I have a 200 litre drum of additive to sell, we are wrapping more these days as renting out barn space is more profitable, we are in west wilts
