Have pin and cone on a 3cx thanks to @holwellcourtfarm and he has one on his and it transformed the 3cx

I don’t get why jcb made the q fit and not stick with the Euro shovel hitch as they so close
It’s all they had in Sweden was the euro hitch on the handlers when we were there

We've pin and cone on 4 forklifts and the digger, they all do a lot of work and no major issues with wear or breakages, only breakage I can think of was ont of the cones breaking off a matbro 270 a lot of years ago. Had a couple of manitou with pin and cone on over the years and they were fine aswell.

Interesting that the pin and cone fanatics have only ever used that system... The best way I would compare Manitou and the Matbro headstock is the Manitou "engineered" theirs whilst the Matbro was "built". The pin and cone is a pig to drop off whilst manitou just needs you to tip. Pin and cone needs to be high up on the implement to give space underneath, manitou does not. Single decent size ram vs two tiny brake actuators with piddly pins and all the extra pipework. Nice compact size vs unnecessarily wide to accommodate pallet forks which are a complete pig to attach. Single piece attachment bracket which are stronger and easier to weld on (two piece available if that suits better. Add in the benefit of being able to lift bags, attach a chain etc and it is a no brainer. If only the rest of the machine was as good as the headstock...(MLT627 currently awaiting a mechanic to fix a blown heater pipe...again)

Q-fit all day, easy on and off, can pick up attachments at awkward angles, can shift attachments about with the edge of the bucket, floating forks are pretty handy and with the forks off you can hook a chain on the hooks for lifting.
i alway thought the fact the q-fit is bigger means that the bucket isn’t as stressed.

had cone and pin on a Mf industrial, it was just plain awkward, now replaced with a q-fit.

Says something when jcb don't use their own Qfit system on the pivot steer machines, instead using pin and cone as the machines probably replaced a matbro/jd, been pin and cone here for years but did make an adapter plate to pick up manitou attachments a few years ago when we used to borrow a silage bale squeeze grab off them, never had any issues with wear or breakages apart from on a jd3200 machine we had that split the pivot pin hole

Our 310s is on q fit . I think they're mostly fitted with pin and cone as they mostly replaced matbro then JD machines.
I've used most over the years but mostly q fit which I think is bloody good but have no problems with any others . Not keen on merlo forks which I have to use occasionally but it's not a bad headstock
