As above really, iPad mini 2 in griffin survivor case - I need to mount it securely in the cab, I've had a few close calls with it down the side of the seat! Have found a Ram mount kit on the internet but am struggling to find UK stockists.

We have ours in an otterbox, then as you say got a ram mount, the small little one that they do and bolted it to the otterbox. Its really strong. Im sure you can attach the ram mount to your case.

Order from Ram Mount direct, very helpful and prompt delivery

Got two ram mounts in my Landrover. One X Grip 1 for the phone and an X Grip 2 for the iPad Mini, both with Griffin Survivor cases. Got the first one off amazon, and the second off MudStuff, but have had stuff off ram-mount.co.uk as well.

cheers.

I have one on a sucker on the windscreen for my iPhone, then one on a clamp bracket on my ohshit handle. Because they use the size B ball for the phone and size C for the pad, you can chop and change your mounts to whatever suits you best.

Do you have a rear view mirror on your defender? If you do, and you don't use it, you can get a bracket from Mud to fit there http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/ram-mirror-mount.html.

Id personally get the right base mounts for each vehicle and leave them in permanently, then just transfer the arm and clamp bracket over as needed. That way you have a properly strong mounting solution, but without the cost of having two arms or XGrips.

I don't sell them, just use several to hold equipment securely in cab. Have x grip phone holders in 3 vehicles which easily adapt to grip most smartphones. Also have the ball mount system for GPS equipment and Drill monitors.

In my experience suckers always let go at the least opportune moment. Go for the fixed ball mount solution.

I use the u bolt clamp in tractor and the fixed ball in pick up. Easy to swap between vehicles just undo clamp.

I'd be inclined to agree. Certainly on an iPad mini I wouldn't want the weight on a single sucker and a twin or triple is just too bulky. Go for a fixed mount in each vehicle really. Plenty of options out there. One option would be to get an appropriate Brodit mount for each vehicle and then just screw a Ram flat base to that.

Thanks. I realised you were a user not a supplier, just interested in user exeperince. I've looked on the Ram Mount webpage and you mostly get photos of the upright Ipad / Iphone but not the bracketry
