World has gone fudgeing mad .....

What is this “Non Fungible Token” (NFT) business?

I see that video clip of “Charlie’s bit my finger” sold as an NFT for £500,000 and as a result will be removed from YouTube

Right, @steveR .... what do you wish to bid for my NFT of video clip of my Deutz DX6.61 tedding grass?

3 Ha'pence.... and I am breaking the bank at that...

Invest some cash in the renewables sector...Copper top of my list the worlds going to need so much going forward and theres a couple of junior explorers sitting on a heap of it.

I'd go for a couple of tonnes, but I think keeping the "light fingered fairies of the night" away, might be a problem...

1/2lb of bullion can go anywhere... even under the bed!! ;)

I'm selling land ( and knackered shed) to pay off a debt.
Modern thinking says I should keep the land and the debt, sit back and watch their values diverge.

Do you actually want to sell the land. When its gone its gone, and on average, the price of land keeps going up. At £5000/acre, it's only £1/sq yard. At £10,000/acre, it's only £2/sq yard. Best Axminster carpet is £40/sq yard.

The alternative is to use the land as security to borrow some money, at as low an interest rate as possible, to pay off the debt.

PS. My acre is 5000 sq yards, rather than the conventional 4840 sq yards. I have bigger stronger bullocks that can plough a bit more than 10 square furlongs in a day.

Average English land prices have actually dropped a bit over the last few years having peaked around 2014/15. Of course this is an average and local factors, type of land and much more means there is huge variation within the figures. The general view is buyers are becoming more discerning resulting in a widening price gap between the the best commercial land and poorer grade 3 but again this is of course a generalisation. The figures below are for bare land without houses/buildings from Knight Frank but other land agents show broadly similar figures.

Land is 55 miles away and is approaching axminster price. ;)

I can picture the discussion with my accountant....

"So can we put the new property in Devon down as an overwintering shed or not....?"

Accountant falls of chair...
you joked about buying another motorbike.... Have you seen what the 2 stroke race reps are making!!! buy up some good sports bikes... In 20 years time when its all electric, true bikers will pay very good money to get their hands on big v twins .....

Vermin proof the sheds and fill with bog rolls. Can trade a couple of sheets for a bag of spuds (aka Fletcher in Porridge).
Won't be able to substitute with newspaper like the old days cos they're getting scarce.
Pray someone doesn't invent an ultrasound bum cleaner.

I have a good Friend who owns this particular car, Along with a List of Other Group B rally cars,
He bought them when no one else wanted them and now everyone does!!
I asked him once "why cars?", he response was that at any one time in the world, there is a recession and a boom,
You can only sell property where it built, but you can ship a car anywhere for a few quid.

Radical thought for a farming forum: As everyone on the planet needs to eat........invest in food production..:scratchhead:
Is anyone actually interested in that? This thread has had 9k views , numbers have shot up since it started , very noticeable and many more views in the same short space in the same shirt space of time than any thread ongoing atm or recently.

Seems to show what people's priorities are.....🤑🤑 .. (n)
