yeah white clover seems to survive. Fescues, and a low input mix we put down had some modern cocksfoot in and i think that is still there (in a heavy field )

Why bother with the Timothy? - it heads in 3 minutes and becomes unpalatable, and I always thought it went best on drier soils.

ryegrass, med and late + white clover

Never used nothing but late in the old days when milk from grass was king, but then living not far from the best grassland resurch farm this country as ever seen now closed was a help

Do you know the white clover in that mix S184 was listed in 1969 and still not bettered as a small clover although it's full name is Aber.S184 is was bred and is marketed by Barenbrug, today's interesting fact.

I'm here but now off to bed, thanks for the heads up though, hope the snow's gone. :)

Field Options have been doing some trials at Harper Adams, and they showed very similar DM yields from late heading PRG as from earlier heading varieties

I'd go for a mix of late heading PRG varieties & white clover. Ryegrass suffers in a dry spot and on thin soils, but it's made for 'heavy, damp land' IMO. I don't see any benefit from diluting the feed value with Timothy in such areas.
