Best low disturbance subsoiler?

We have used Sumo GLS legs on our Rape Drill last few years. Took them off this year half way through season and put normal feet back on. On damp clay soils we found they weren't restructuring the soil properly where we had compaction caused by Combine and Balers.

I keep thinking of swapping the legs on my v form to some low disturbance legs. Only going 200-300 deep at 650mm centres. Keep looking at the Tillso sabre tines and the metcalfe. Anybody got any opinions on these or others?

I use tillso ultra lite legs at 450mm centres and I am really pleased with them. They won’t work at those centres so you would need a sabre tine I think?? I think you dd from memory so I would not try and go that shallow at that spacing as I think to move all soil at depth will require a wide wing which will result in too much surface disturbance.

I was thinking the tillso sabre light would be ok.

Not doing so much DD now so disturbance is not such an issue.

Dragging up an old thread but is anyone using a Heva Stealth low disturbance subsoiler? Looking at a 3m with 6 legs but haven’t had chance to see 1 working this autumn. Anyone tried 1 and bought 1 or bought something else after trying it?

This was a demo earlier in the year, demoed a 5 leg and put another leg in and they kept it, goes really well, low draught legs don’t take much pulling at all.

I was in your yard last week looking at the 3m 5 leg demo machine, do you find they give enough lift across the full width?
In heavy land where it is generally tighter, I would say yes 5 legs works well and takes a lot less pulling as you aren't moving an extra leg that doesn't need to be there, lighter land then a 6th leg would help get that movement where the soil isn't stuck as one lump.

I am looking at converting our old Simba flat line into low disturbance. Does anyone have or know anyone who might be able to sell me a couple of old brackets and legs? Points obviously not important as we'll be fitting new ones.

would anyone on here know the angle at which to place a sumo ld leg in an old trio frame. in the new machine does it pitch straight down (1st photo) or is it slightly cocked back (second photo) to all it to dig in more ? sorry if this is a stupid question but can't find any pictures of the low disturbance legs on a machine and need to know where to cut out the back of the leg to make a bracket.
