spread it out with a tedder, then row it back up when dry.
unless you have a 10ft header anything else is a waste of diesel.
Leaves half of it behind, breaks up and is a pia for the following crop. Doing nothing would be my advice.

If it is drying and it looks favourable to bale run through with the hay Bob a day or so before but don’t bother if you know you won’t get it.

Your right but your pic your combine looks similar size to ours these rotary 40ft ones never dry

no but if you want roll straw upside down and onto dry stubble there are worse things, would choose it over a haybob anyday.

We have a single rotor rake now which is very good
We did that for years but it was behind a12ft cut Clayson, with nice long straw and hot dry spells.
Now it is a 2 hour window behind a 40ft rotary, tipping it over is a waste of diesel.

For sale. Turns straw brilliantly. Loads of videos off it working. Hydraulic driven. Works with grass as well.

Acrobat :ROFLMAO:

Now que the abuse
If its not too big a swath of straw the old Acrobat is hard to beat to flip the whole swath upside down on a dry bit of stubble.
Different story if its a heavy 40ft swath though.

I modified ours to go on the front linkage so you don't have to run on the bout before lifting it over, a lot better if the ground is soft.
On the front it tips it and the swath goes down the left side of the tractor.

Edit: That merger machine looks the job, Did you make that @Dave W ?
