Looking for a fresh muckspreader ,have a lot of fairly steep banks that will be spreading on, currently have a fair size rotaspreader but thinking a rear discharge may be a better job, will be on 120hp tractor, what are peoples suggestions, don’t want something that’s going to push me around the field on the downhill etc .

I run a Keenan orbital on a MF 6270 its great on our sloping ground, amazing where it will go without even putting the tractor in 4wd.
I spread the straw muck out of the sheds with it but its tipped in a heap in the spring and spread it the autumn not straight out of the shed.

Rear discharge on 120hp is fine

Until you're crossing the slope and realise the frost is coming out the ground 😱

Beautiful

compared to trailer and pitchforks, anyway
And Compared to the land drive chain bed rear discharge ones we went from , still loaded them Rotaspreaders sometimes with a pitch fork tho for awhile, in awkward piggeries , was used to it mind you. Gave you good arm muscles, and leg ones which you used to save your back in heavy stuff, we were fit as fiddle back then, ....I digress......😬

Shellbourne Reynolds brilliant for slope plenty of weight on the tractor at all times and you can blast muck up or down tricky bits without actually driving on them. On the other hand try going up a slippery slope with a rear discharge with the last 1/3 of the load all at the rear, you will fail.
You start going to the top of the hill with the full load obviously and spread the last 1/3 of the load coming down🤨
